I had the most wonderful evening as a finalist at the Scottish Arts Club Short Story Awards dinner. Six of the seven shortlisted authors were able to attend the event at the Club’s headquarters in Edinburgh, along with two of the three Flash Fiction finalists. Each story was championed by one of the competition’s readers, drawn from the club’s members. Afterwards, we were treated to an excellent dinner in the club’s private dining room, where the wine and conversation flowed. It was an evening of validation and celebration for all the finalists, and one I won’t forget.
Congratulations to the overall winner Mara Buck. Her story Trophy was a more-than-worthy winner. You can read all the shortlisted stories here.
